Third Marietta Accident Within Five Days Claims Life Of Travelers Rest Woman

A Travelers Rest woman died from injuries she received in a two vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon near Marietta. The accident happened at the intersection of Circle Drive and Geer Highway.

South Carolina Highway Patrol State Troopers said an Oldsmobile sedan was turning left from Circle Drive on to Geer Highway when it was hit by an east bound Ford Explorer.

The driver of the sedan was identified as Donna Griffin Wiggins, 60 of Travelers Rest. She was transported to the hospital where she died a short time later. The driver of the Ford Explorer was also injured but was not transported to the hospital.

The fatality was the third in the Marietta area within a five day period. Last Wednesday night a woman was killed in a single vehicle crash on Talley Bridge Road near Geer Highway. On Friday evening another woman was killed in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Dacusville Road and Geer Highway. See an earlier report on those accidents Here
