Hit And Run Accident In Marietta

A hit and run accident was reported in Marietta on Monday night (January 2nd). The accident took place on Geer Highway in the area of the Dollar General store. A woman was struck by a pickup truck when she was attempting to cross the highway. The driver of the truck left the scene of the accident and was arrested several hours later. The victim was transported to the hospital by Greenville County EMS with serious injuries. The name of the person charged with the crime has not been released to news media.
