Body Found In Abandoned House

The body of a deceased woman was discovered in an abandoned house at 5 Cooper Street in the City of Travelers Rest Monday evening after 5 pm. Travelers Rest police are investigating.

Travelers Rest Police Chief Ben Ford told media outlets the woman is believed to be between 40 to 50 years and is white. She is believed to be non-recently deceased. No one was supposed to be in the house. Ford said an autopsy will be conducted Tuesday to determine the cause of death. The death is suspicious. The chief of police also said there is no danger to the public.
