Additional Arrests Made In Marietta Murder Case

Greenville County Sheriff's Office Homicide Investigators made two additional arrests in the murder of Clarrissa Michelle Winchester. Winchester and her recently born son were murdered on November 9th at a residence on Saw Mill Road in Marietta. Tyler Wilkins was arrested and charged with the murders and is being held without bond in the county detention center since November 9th. On Saturday investigators arrested two of Wilkins' relatives in connection with the murders.

43 year old Michael Thomas Burnett and 49 year old Melissa Michelle Burnett (both of Marietta) were charged with Misprison/Misprision of a Felony (neglect in reporting a crime). Arrest warrants implied the Burnetts were negligent in failing to prevent or report the felony crime of murder and listened to Winchester yell and beg for help for approximately two hours and took no actions to assist her. Winchester died from blunt force trauma to the neck and head. Investigators said the Burnetts were inside the home where Wilkins beat Winchester to death. The Burnetts were taken in to custody Saturday and were transported to the Greenville County Detention Center.
