TR Man Barred From UGA Campus For Four Years Following Box Cutter Incident
If you are a Georgia Bulldog fan, don't take your box cutter to town.
A Travelers Rest man will have to wait four years before he can attend another Georgia Bulldog home football game. The Athens Banner-Herald newspaper is reporting that a 52 year old man from Travelers Rest, SC was kicked out of Sanford Stadium last Saturday afternoon after he threatened to cut the throat of another man with a box cutter during the Georgia - Auburn football game.
The incident, which was witnessed by many people, happened when the Travelers Rest man was reportedly upset that a man two rows in front of him was standing and blocking his view of the game, according to police.
The victim, a 40 year old man from Illinois, told police he didn't want to press charges against the box cutter toter.
After police escorted the Travelers Rest man from the stadium, they barred him from the UGA campus and transit system for four years. Since no charges were filed against him, his name was not released to the media.
